It’s been a bumpy road of late for @CoxieFM when it comes to content creation but it has been nice to see him stick to a save or two this time around instead of constantly stopping & starting like last year.
From his initial save playing in Japan to his current save with his local club Walsall FC over on his blog site he is back on form for Football Manager 2024
Creator name & what made you choose it?
CoxieFM, I tried to keep it simple and also, I didn’t think my Xbox gamertag would work…DeadRabbits1984. (Anyone guess the film).
Real name?
Michael.
Favourite football team?
The best club in the black country and everyone’s favourite M6 football stadium…Walsall FC.
Talk me through your FM journey – where does it start?
I played some Championship Manager away back in the day but not that often to be honest. Then, I was probably on and off for years until 2012 when I started to play it religiously. Also, I used it as an escape into my own little world when I was away from family & friends whilst being on deployments with the Royal Navy for 6-9 months at a time…
Ok, you’ve been playing the game, what made you jump from “player” to “creator” and how have you found the journey?
I got into content creating back in 2017, but it was mainly on my Facebook, doing bad screenshots and writing up about 7 lines of text saying how things were going on in the save at the time. It wasn’t until I discovered bloggers on twitter, I thought I might give this ago and reached out to a few of them for some advice in late 2019 whilst away again with work. However, it was mid-2020 when I started becoming a content creator full-time-ish after finding out I had developed a blood-clot in my leg and was unable to do deploy etc for job, so I used FM as an escape and to keep my mind in check whilst in recovery plus we all lived through COVID too. I thought I would have stopped but I just enjoy sharing my saves.
What’s your style of play? Within the library we have a couple of guys who plough through seasons letting the Assistant Manager’s do the vast majority of stuff, mainly getting into the late 2060’s trying to complete bizarre and random challenges, but we also have guys who are very much into the finite detail and will manage every aspect and would consider a save done after 5 or 6 seasons. Where do you fit within the scale? There is of course, no incorrect answer.
I am defo not hands on with training and it’s a weak side of my FM but that’s why we employ an assistant manager. I’ll always like to find and hire my own staff, unless I am doing a DoF Challenge.
Favourite version/save? Any particular bittersweet/comic/down right depressing memories?
On FM24, winning three league titles in a row with Sanfrecce Hiroshima and on FM23 taking BK Frem to the top tier in Danish football and becoming the ‘Kings of København’.
Not many will know, but FM23 wasn’t a good FM for me for content creating and will hold my hands up.
Which bloggers do you always make sure that you read?
The Last Throw, FM_Addict, CharooFM, MaddFM, LutterworthFox, TheUntoldGame, TheFMAcadmey
but there are so many more other great blogs out there from other creators. Also, It’s nice finding new bloggers in the community of late, like JamieRaineFM
Who within the community, seriously impresses you – produces the type of content that you just think “Wow, I couldn’t even contemplate producing stuff to at that level?
There are too many creators for me to mention everyone who impress me…
What puts you off reading other creators blogs – what makes you click that “X” button in the top right of the page?
I’m not one for clicking off other creators’ blogs. I’m happy to sit with a brew and read through, game by game match reports or any other style of blogging. I do get drawn towards any spelling and grammar errors, but it’s not a big issue for me because people are different, and I won’t stop reading them.
Ok, final question.. I have 5 minutes and I have a list of blogs in front of me – In 100 words, why should I click on your blog…
I will do it in less or probably more words, don’t click on my blogs…Go check out the other great bloggers in the community and get yourself on the The FM Library discord channel. You can find my content over on CoxieFM.wordpress.com.
So that is us back in the groove after a few weeks off over Christmas & New Year, hopefully you all had a great time. Big thanks to @CoxieFM for stepping up to complete the 11 Question series for us as we kick of 2024 with a bang!
